What caught my attention is perspective on “ESG” investing, lots of investor avoids tobacco, alcohol, gaming/casino as they ruin lives – they want invest in socially responsible firm and they have found tech to tick ESG boxes of investing. However “Suicides among 10-18-year old kids have soared with email/social media addiction. Friendships are broken over politics. Civil discourse has disappeared. Violent protests are off the charts. Homicides in major cities have skyrocketed. Folks are siloed into like-minded groups and all this is being exacerbated by the COVID-19 quarantine. People are ignoring their loved ones to satisfy the addiction to the phone or online shopping or social media or to YouTube videos.” Looks like nobody is paying attention to how much discord these tech companies are causing – not acting in Socially Responsible manner. ‘Jet fighter’ godwit breaks world record for non-stop bird flight – Link here – so after reading article, I was wondering if technical definition of “non-stop flight” is different than what one assumes it by reading, meaning no stoppage or halt for food or breathing halt etc is not counted, so I spoke to a bird watcher hobbyist to understand it and it actually means “non-stop”. Before they begin flying, birds stuff themselves up with food just like camel stores water for journey. Truly remarkable.
